A grade II listed, former Victorian warehouse
The client approached Tract to convert the space above their existing restaurant in central Manchester into a grand boutique hotel.
The existing structure currently houses Asha's restaurant on the lower and upper grounds floors, whilst there is significant dilapidation housed in the vacant structure above.
The warehouse unfortunately suffered a serious fire in 2012 and as a result, currently requires significant structural remediation and safety improvements to rectify the build to it's former glory.
A boutique hotel
The client intends to convert the upper floors into a boutique hotel that will provide 32 rooms, including duplexes.
Planning approval was granted early 2021 and the project is currently under construction.
Tract Architecture developed the final iteration of this project up to RIBA stage 4 technical design. It was then taken over by Falconer Chester Hall Architects, who delivered the scheme through to completion.
